Upholstery repair will not only give a new look to your drawing or living room, but also save you from that unnecessary expenditure of buying new sets of chairs or other pieces of furniture to replace those worn out pieces.

Why Reupholster Furniture? • Furniture made in the olden days was found to be more sturdy and attractive. • These cost a lot more now. • Therefore, you can simply reupholster your old furniture sets to make them look new • Reupholstering includes repairing and redesigning a piece of furniture.

  3. Introduction We had a chair that belonged to my grandfather. It was all worn out, yet quite strong. This is when I got it reupholstered! You too can do it yourself or call a professional to do it for you!

  4. Equipment’s required forupholster These equipment’s would make your work easy • The chair • Staple gun • Screwdriver • Foam (chair-specific) • A pair of scissors

  5. Get the worn out chair • Get the chair and turn it over. • Keep this chair on a raised platform so that you have clear view of its bottom.

  6. Gather theRequired Fabric • Gather your favorite color fabric that you want to upholstery. • For long lasting fabric, it is recommended to get “upholstery grade” fabric.

  7. Try to find screws on Chair • Find out exact number of screws that are fastened with the frame of the chair and the seat. • Remove all screws one by one with the help of the screwdriver. Remove frame of chair aside so that you will get more space to work on seat.

  8. Use Of Favorite Fabric • Put your fabric on the floor with the designer side facing down • If you feel that you have to replace the foam as well in your old chair, you would need to remove the staples from the chair seat.

  9. Replace the Old Worn out foam • Then place your chair seat on the new foam with which you want to replace the worn out foam. • Cut Fabric according to shape of the chair seatwith two or three inches extra in the fabric that you cut.

  10. Place new foam and Other Material • Place the foam or other material you want to use on the flat side of the seat and staple it with a staple gun. • Staple fabric in such a way that the decorative side faces down.

  11. Fine tune your job • To avoid loose end fine tune all your work . • In this way the middle as well as the edges should be secured. • Chair have enough staples so that the foam or the fabric does not come out easily.

  12. Put the chair seat back on the frame • Put the chair seat that was kept aside back on the frame • Accomplish it by tightening the screws.
