ABSTRACT Major societal issue in cities & village. Major components in vehicle surveillance. Camera module provides real time surveillance. Alcohol sensor is the another safety measure.
INTRODUCTION • Improvements are necessary for every field, in the field of vehicle security various techniques have been improved. • The security system involving face detection using Raspberry PI. • If the newly scanned image does not match with the image uploaded to the data base the system will stop immediately all the process here is controlled by programmed Raspberry Pi. • Drink and drive is a serious public health problem. • The alcoholic sensor sense a change in alcoholic gas content of the surrounding air. • The face recognition system recognize the faces in vehicle and when nobody should be in the car and make an alarm loudly.

HARDWARE COMPONENTS RASPBERRY PI: The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized minicomputer that can be used for many small computing tasks and IoT. Raspberry Pi devices have in-built Wi-Fi, by this it can send message without using GSM and SD card to store the captured image and to learn how to program in languages like Scratch and Python. 2. LCD DISPLAY: LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is an electronic display module and find a wide range of applications. A 16x2 LCD display is very basic module and is very commonly used in various devices and circuits.LCD Display displays the level of alcohol content and it displays whether alcohol content is present or not.
3. GAS SENSOR: This is a sensor which can sense the alcohol level. This sensor comes in a package like our alcohol sensor, it measures the level of alcohol content through the odour and turns the ignition off, it measures the alcohol from the breath of the person, not letting the drunk person drive. 4. DC MOTOR: An electric motor is a machine which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Instead of car DC motor is used, it shows the movement of car. when the ignition off, DC motor stops running. Fig. 1 MQ3 alcohol gas sensor
5. CAMERA: Support windows 2000/ XP/ Win7/ Win8/ Win10/ Vista 32bit. / Mac. The Raspberry Pi camera module is used, to capture the pictures of thief and notify the owner alerting about the theft. It also saves the image captured in the SD card. 6. GPS MODULE: It can operate 3.3V controller that include Arduino and Raspberry Pi, work perfectly with this GPS module. The GPS modem will continuously give the information i.e., the latitude and longitude position of the vehicle. 7. BUZZER: A buzzer or beeper is an audio signalling device, which may be mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric. Buzzer used by commercial establishments which help protect thefts unauthorized access by setting off a loud alarm.
SOFTWARE COMPONENTS 1. RASPBERRY PI OS: Raspberry Pi OS is a Unix-like operating system based on the Debian Linux distribution for the Raspberry Pi family of compact single-board computers. 2. THONNY PYTHON IDE: Thonny is an integrated development environment for Python that is designed for beginners. It was created by AivarAnnamaa, an Estonian programmer. Though Thonny is designed for novices, it offers several features that make it an excellent IDE for full-fledged Python development. 3. TWILIO: Twilio's programmable messaging also allows businesses to send and receive messages with cloud-scale messaging APIs (Application Programming Interface) for SMS, MMS, and WhatsApp.
METHODOLOGY • Raspberry Pi provides a set of GPIO pins. • Face recognition is implemented for identification. • Cascade detector detectes acquire an image and extracts the face region from the acquired image. • GPS module connects to satellite to obtain coordinates. • To avoid theft of vehicles as it provides snap shots of culprit. • Lock of Ignition. • SMS is sent using Twilio service. • Buzzer will start alerting.
EXPECTED OUTCOME • An camera used for detection and recognition of authorized and unauthorized persons using open CV and python IDE. • The face is detected by a cascade face detector in the acquired images. • Computer vision based algorithm is reliable for protecting the vehicle from the modern improve theft techniques. • Drunk driving and alcohol detection with alert system have successfully implemented. • System detects the presence of alcohol in the driver’s breath. • Theft will be alerted by sending SMS to the predefined number containing the GPS location.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES ADVANTAGES: • Checking your BAC minimizes the risks of impaired driving and safety of the people seating inside the car. • When you have access to each vehicle's real-time location, you can easily track all your assets. If they get lost or stolen, they can be retrieved right away. • Rapidly growth in the internet of things and more security. • The alcohol detection with engine locking system can help prevent accidents due to drunk driving and it is very helpful for police. DISADVANTAGES: • Poor signal. • Battery life is short. • Driving distraction.
APPLICATION • Improve vehicle security :- Improving security means ensuring your vehicles are fitted with the latest in anti-theft solutions. This system can be used to reduce the increased vehicle theft and allows the owner to identify the intruder thereby having the vehicle under his\her control. • Company Employees Vehicle Security :-Something as simple as employee uniforms and ID is an easy way to ensure only authorized drivers climb into your cabs. • Make trailers more secure :-While your truck is an important asset, and driver safety is paramount, you also need to secure the trailer to ensure your precious cargo remains safe. After all, if you can’t deliver goods safely to your clients, your business is likely to suffer damage to its reputation.
CONCLUSION AND FUTURE SCOPE • To avoid theft of vehicles as it provides snapshots of culprit to mobile linked device. • Alcohol sensor will lock the ignition after detecting the alcohol beyond the limit. • This project helps may lives on road and also helps to secure our vehicle, and drink drive cases also reduced. • Later on, we can include a gas sensor or smoke identification sensor to give extra alarms. • Rather than sending text message to authority, it is best to send the location to a system base or web server for car tracking.
