  1. For air travelers in the Greater Toronto Area, getting to their United Airlines flight is about to become a lot more convenient. The major U.S. carrier has just opened a brand new office right in the downtown core at 401 Bay Street in the iconic TD Canada Trust Tower. The spacious new United Airlines Toronto office occupies two full floors and will serve as the airline's main hub for operations across Ontario and into Quebec. More than 200 employees will be based out of the chic new downtown digs including managerial staff overseeing operations, customer service and sales and marketing for the region. "Toronto is an absolutely vital market for United Airlines with tremendous growth potential " said Jake Jacobs United Vice President of Airport Operations in Canada . "By planting a flag with this impressive new office space right in the downtown financial district, we're demonstrating our commitment to the city and the entire region ." The United Toronto team relocated from the airline's previous offices near Pearson International Airport. While that location served its purpose for many years the new downtown office provides a much more centralized location that is far more accessible for employees and helps reduce commute times. In addition to serving as United regional headquarters the flashy new office space will also house the airline Toronto talent acquisition team . With the travel industry continuing its rapid post-pandemic recovery United is aggressively hiring across all divisions . The Toronto hiring hub will focus on recruiting pilots flight attendants gate agents baggage handlers and other key operational roles . "We're tremendously excited to welcome our Toronto team into this beautiful, modern, and conveniently located office space," added Jacobs. "It provides an outstanding home base as we continue rapidly growing our presence across Canada in conjunction with our Star Alliance partners at Air Canada." The United Toronto office features an open concept layout with ample natural light a variety of meeting spaces lounges phone rooms and other amenities designed to foster productivity and collaboration . Staff will be able to easily commute using public transit with the office just steps from subway stations . As United's third largest hub across its entire global network Toronto is an integral part of the airline's future growth plans . The expanded office space provides the ideal foundation as United charts an ambitious course in Canada largest city .
