  3. PERMANENT RESTORATION A longer-lasting alternative to dentures, dental bridges are an effective way to replace one or more missing teeth. They consist of a false tooth, positioned between two crowns, which slot over the teeth on either side of a gap www.northlanedentalpractice.co.uk

  4. DENTAL BRIDGEWORK If you have a bridge supported by teeth on either side (known as abutment teeth), then we will be able to fit the bridge on the same day. However, if you are having your bridge supported by implants, you will need a period to wait for the implants to heal before having the bridge fitted. At the laboratory, they will be able to precision mill your bridge in a highly durable ceramic. This is then returned to us for fitting.   5. HOW IT WORKS The abutment teeth are prepared by removing a layer of enamel to ensure there will be sufficient room for the crowns. Impressions are taken using our intra-oral camera and these are beamed to the milling machine. Your bridge is milled from a single block of ceramic. When ready, the bridge is checked and adjusted. It is especially important to clean under the false tooth, as well as brushing and flossing regularly.
