  2. 2009 Welcome Party The Welcome Party was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1st. Birkdale Golf Course generously provided guests with free range balls, private practice range and putting green space, and a cash bar for all to enjoy.

  3. 2009 Welcome Party About 50 guests turned out to enjoy a beautiful evening amongst friends and family. Congratulations to Gary Boyle, Jake’s father, for winning the 50/50 putting contest and taking his $85 in winnings straight to Arnie’s!

  4. 2009 Golf Tournament With a beautiful day at hand and great attendees ready for a fantastic day of golf, the 2009 Jake Boyle Memorial Golf Tournament went off without a hitch. Upon registration, guests were greeted with a gift bag including balls, tees, a divot tool, a golf towel and much more.

  5. 2009 Golf Tournament The shotgun start commenced at 8:30 a.m. after some words from our title sponsor, Newell Rubbermaid, and Kevin Yeh of the tournament committee.

  6. 2009 Golf Tournament In all, 142 golfers (out of 144 registrants) participated in the 2009 tournament. The winning team, the White Belts, defended their 2008 title by posting an impressive 16-under-par score of 56 for the day.

  7. 2009 Reception At the conclusion of the golf tournament around 2:30 p.m., guests were invited back to the Murphy house for the official post-tournament reception. Party-goers enjoyed a delicious catered “Southern Picnic” with fried chicken, potato salad, green beans, salad, and biscuits. Carolina Beer Company provided six kegs of their various brews for all to enjoy.

  8. 2009 Reception Reception guests also had the opportunity to participate in a “Chinese Auction”-style raffle. Prizes included a weekend getaway to Rag Apple Lassie Vineyards for six people, an Irwin Ultimate Tool Bag, a Taylor Made r7 Limited Driver gift basket, two paintings by Lauren Spahr, Calphalon Cookware, 2008 and 2009 U.S. Open merchandise, and much more.

  9. 2009 Reception The awards ceremony and raffle drawing took place at 5:00 p.m. as rain threatened, but was concluded before the heavy stuff started coming down. Congratulations to all the winners of the tournament and raffle drawings!
