Size of Hurley “I have always used a short Hurley. It is easier to produce the wristy swing that is required in hurling with a shorter Hurley” Weight of Hurley “Power comes from the speed of the Hurley rather than the weight. I have always gone for a light Hurley”

Still looking straight ahead- arms extended down side of body. • Using the above grip with dominant hand ask player to extend it straight out from the shoulder. Thumb of dominant hand on the upper edge for control and stability. • If Hurley correct length and weight player should be able to keep it extended without too much discomfort for 20/30 seconds.
