The Gospel According To John.“That you might believe.” John Chapter 1 Verses 14-51 By Becky Kew Published at www.GospelHall.org
John the Baptist was A cousin to the Lord Jesus. He was sent to tell people that the Lord was coming And that they needed to turn from their ways. John said, “He that Comes after me Is preferred before me: for he was before me.” WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
“The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”John 1:17 John said:
Jesus came down from Heaven, not to judge, but to save those who realize their need of him. He wants to give his power and peace. He is full of grace, granting forgiveness to those who will believe in him. Even though we don’t deserve it. He hates sin, but loves the sinner. He is full of truth. he must judge sin. All that he does and says is right.
The ten commandments were part of God’s laws. The law tells us what is right, but does not give us the power to do it. The law shows us that we are sinners, because we cannot keep it perfectly. It cannot save us from sin.
“Behold the Lamb of God!” John said He wasn’t worthy to unloose the Lord’s shoes.
Why was Jesuscalled:“Lamb of God?”John 1:29What did Jesus come to take away?
There were those who came to see John, who would not believe his testimony. John 1:22-26 God spoke to John and said, “Upon whom you shall see the spirit descending and remaining on him, the same is he which will give the Holy Ghost.” John said, “I bare record that this is the Son of God” John 1:34
John baptized with water, but he said there was one coming who would give the Holy Ghost. JOHN 1:33
As John spoke there were others, who did believe and chose to follow The Lord Jesus. These men became his disciples. The Lord said to them, “Follow me.”
Andrew and Simon Peter were two of these men. Others were Phillip and Nathaniel. Philip was excited and said, “We have found the one that Moses and the prophets did write about.” Nathaniel doubted, but came to see Jesus. Jesus told Nathaniel of his Character and that he saw him under a fig tree, before he even met the Lord.

The Lord Jesus showed who he was to Nathanael. Nathanael believed that Jesus was the Son of God, and declared it out loud. Jesus said he would even see greater things than these. John 1:49. Do you believe that Jesus Is the son of god?
