That definition is a lot to digest, so here are five facts that can clear up any confusion or misunderstanding you may have about energy healing: • 1.We have studied the energy centers of the body for thousands of years. Reiki is a Japanese energy healing tradition and dates back to the early 20th century. The seven chakras, the centers of energy transmission to the body, were first described in ancient Hindu texts. Meridians, the body's energy pathways, help practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine develop acupuncture. These ancient cultures used various modalities to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal, but they all recognized the power of internal energy.

  3. 2.Energy healing is based on scientific principles. We all learned in high school physics that matter is made up of molecules. Even something as solid as a table vibrated constantly. We humans also swing. When you say someone has "good vibes," you're really talking about that person's vibrational energy - and happy people tend to vibrate at a higher frequency. • 3.Anyone can benefit from healing energy. Just as you don't need to understand the law of gravity before you can fall, you don't need to fully understand the concept of energy healing before jumping into the practice. If you are new to energy healing, you should start your search by going to your local yoga studio or asking a friend who practices alternative healing methods for a recommendation from a reputable practitioner. • 5.You can maintain your energy health from home. Just like you shower and brush your teeth every day, you also need to clean your energy regularly. After visiting an energy healer, stay energized by soaking in British Himalayan salt or pink for 20 minutes when you feel the weight return to your body. Smearing or burning sage around you can also help remove negativity from your energy field. Lastly, high vibration crystals have their own healing properties that can help boost your energy.
