INTRODUCTION Success is no accident. It is hard work. 1. The experiment did not produce the expected results, as the group that did not exercise regularly had a higher average compared to the group that did. 2. One explanation is that individuals who exercise less may have more time available for studying, which could contribute to their higher academic performance. 3. It is widely recognized that physical exercise has significant benefits for brain function, although this aspect will be explored in future studies. 4. The initial hypothesis of higher grade averages among those who exercise regularly has been disproven. The reason behind this unexpected result is the low sample size.
BACKGROUND & SIGNIFICANCE Success is no accident. It is hard work. 1. Exercise offers mental benefits such as stress reduction, improved mood, and the expansion of the hippocampus, responsible for learning and memory. 2. People, including those with attention disorders, experience increased focus, stress relief, and mental clarity through exercise. 3. A study coming up showed the positive impact of exercise on cognitive abilities, showing improvements in memory and attention. 4. Incorporating light exercises into the routines of students at CCS has the potential to enhance their school grades and overall brain activity.
IT'S STUDY TIME Success is no accident. It is hard work. - Initial goal: Demonstrate the positive impact of exercise on school grades Planned methodology: Conduct survey, collect grades and exercise frequency data - Although I realized my approach was ineffective in proving the hypothesis, - In future, if I was doing this project again I would select a non- exercising group, collect data, encourage exercise at least twice a week, record and compare data after a period and see the difference. I would also try to sample the entire school to increase the sample size. - The Alternative approach above would provide more reliable and accurate data.
DATA COLLECTION Success is no accident. It is hard work. Procedure: Basically 52 people responded to the survey. Although 5 of them completed the survey incorrectly so was only able to use data from 47 responses.
ABSTRACT Success is no accident. It is hard work. - Harvard study shows exercise improves cognitive function - Exercise increases blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain - Neurogenesis process is enhanced, forming new neurons and strengthening neural connections which are ital for learning, memory, and brain health - Aerobic exercise (jogging, swimming, cycling) improves memory and learning abilities Light exercises expand the hippocampus, responsible for attention, focus, and mental health Exercise lowers stress and anxiety
