  2. As solid and concrete as one might think they are, all cars are vulnerable to dents and dings. The need to remove dents from your prized vehicle can be a necessity, whether it is the result of a tight parking space or something you don’t even know about. Here are some tips that can be useful to remove dents with household objects. Household Plunger The removal of basic car dents can be done with the help of a regular plunger with the right technique. The method is easier to complete when there are large dents without any holes or creases. There are also occasions when the strength of the seal around the plunger’s mouth can be improved by applying some petroleum jelly. By the firm attachment of the mouth of the plunger to the body work and ensuring that it is centrally and securely placed, grip the handle and give it a sharp tug. This will make the metal pop back to its original place. This is not a technique that gives the best results but it is convenient and can be done easily.

  3. Car Dent Plunger There is a wide range of plungers and pullers available at car part stores that are specially designed for car dent removal. These devices usually look like the smaller version of the standard household plungers. The plunger allows you to remover air from the head after it is in place in order to create an air tight seal. This is a paintless dent removal method that does not require any further work after you rectify the dent.

  4. Dent Puller A dent puller can also be bought from any car supply store or hardware store. The dent puller will require you to drill a hole in the center of the dent before using the device to pull the bodywork back into its original place. The hole has to be drilled carefully so that you do not push the dent further inside. Another thing you have to avoid is drilling the hole larger than it needs to be. The wire component of the tool is to be positioned within the hole and secured tightly to make sure the dent pops out when you pull it. The problem with this method is that when the dent has been fixed, the hole needs to be repaired using a filler and paint.

  5. Mallet In the cases where you the access to the back of the body part that has suffered the dent, a rubber mallet can be used for the car dent removal. If the dents are in a large area, like the hood of the car, you may carefully use the mallet on the reverse side to bring the bodywork back into its place. In order to prevent the metal from being hammered too far out during the repair, make sure you conduct this process gradually and carefully. Hammer A standard metal work hammer can also be used as a technique for car dent removal. This method is particularly effective for small and uneven dents. The hammer is used on the reverse side of the body part that has suffered the dent in order to force the metal back to where it is supposed to be. To get the best results make sure the hammer head is rounded and covered by cloth or it may cause some unwanted damage.
