  2. Eostre from early Anglo-Saxon • The name Eostre is said to be related to the word east which many believe makes her a dawn goddess. • The white lily, the symbol of resurrection, is the special Easter flower. Rabbits and colored eggs have come from pagan antiquity as symbols of new life.

  3. Eostre is connected with renewal and fertility. • The germanic Goddess of fertility and spring, Eostre (pronounced yo’ster) or easter, was celebrated with the ritual lightning of dawn fires as a protection for the crops. She symbolizes spring time, new growth, and rebirth.
