1. Aim: How can we use the pen tool to draw curves?

2. Pen Tool Basics • The pen tool can be used to create curves • In order to create a curve we need to create an anchor point • Once you have an anchor point you can click the second anchor point and click and drag the second point to form the curve

3. Creating a Circle • We are going to create a circle using the pen tool • We will be making this circle by creating 4 anchor points and curving the lines • In order to create even curves make sure you drag the lines to the same length

4. Creating a square with rounded edges • We already have a custom shape that does this, but sometimes designs call for modifications • We will be working with 8 anchor points and curves • Be sure to keep the curves the same size

5. Classwork • Create 5 different shapes using the pen tool • If you create a quadrilateral use rounded edges
