Video introduction • FRISA, a manufacturing firm located in Monterey, Mexico. • Produces parts for high-cost equipment such as heavy machinery, locomotives. • Recently bought a company located in Detroit that produces the same items. • How do their Mexican and US workers differ? How might these differences affect HR practices?

  4. Factors affecting international HR • Culture • Values, beliefs, etc. • Blend of organizational and country • Education • Economic system • Wage scale, labor costs • Tax systems • Political and legal system
