Learn how pressure switches work from O’Sullivan Pump Co. Welcome to the O’Sullivan Pump Co. classroom. This is the place where we like to teach everything, we know about all the parts and components that make up pumps! This is also the place where we like the working of the machines like the holding tank. Before using such complicated machines, it is mandatory to know about what a pressure switch is and how they operate. We would also like to point out that if you ever inspect your pressure switch; always ensure the power to it is off for safety’s sake. What is a pressure Switch? A pressure switch is passive equipment since the presence or absence of pressure is all that is required for it to function. The diaphragm that contains the pressure compresses a calibrated spring. When the spring tension exceeds or reaches the set point, it will move the contacts from closed to open in an NC switch or open to close in a NO switch. For ease of configuration across different applications, it is usual for pressure switches to contain at least one pair of NO and one pair of NC contacts. Why consider us?
