The Asia-Pacific region produces and consumes more than 90% of the world’s rice. The majority of the cultivated land in Cambodia is used for growing rice, which contributes 15% to the country’s agricultural value added. During the months of January through March of this year, the export of rice brought in 126 million US dollars for the Southeast Asian nation, according to the report. As per the report, varieties of exported milled rice included premium aromatic rice, fragrant rice, long grain white rice, parboiled rice, and organic rice. The report also stated that China continued to be the top consumer of milled rice from Cambodia, buying 84,773 tons, or 48% of the country’s entire first-quarter export of milled rice. Rice from Cambodia had been delivered to 41 nations and regions.
