The Aim The Aim The pilot project launched by Punjab’s Agriculture Department in collaboration with Punjab’s Agro Industries Corporation intends to avoid loss of foreign exchange due to rejection of India’s basmati rice in the international markets because of non-compliance with market set standards for chemical compounds. “Middle East, Europe and America show a strong demand for Indian basmati rice particularly from the Chogawan block and hence it is important to not miss out on those global markets because of chemical composition of the crops,” said Mr. Jatinder Singh Gill, Chief Agriculture Officer at Punjab’s Agriculture Department.
