  1. WHAT THE RIGHT PACS SIZE YOU NEED FOR MEDICAL IMAGING Usually, we find some simple metrics from all of the users. It can be used to determine this exact size of a new PACS. However, you have to consider these three questions: If they are more radiographs? CTs or MRIs which of the store high regulations? Have the legacy data that you can use to transform old PACS viewer free into the new one? How many studies do you expect in a month or annual? Is your number growing up regularly? Moreover, we determine to calculate the last five years of PACS. Among them, some may be long-lasting or some may short time. Because of this, it is better to configure a PACS to a RAID array. As a result, it will enable to replace driver’s id if they will fail. So, in a RAID array, assuming as a diligent, that can be replaced about data integrity.

  2. The formula There is an easy equation to calculate the size of your PACS to use DCM file viewer online. Here I describe the formula of calculating an image. Firstly, you need to take the number of studies which will be expected for this year. Secondly, you should multiply that number by 100 megabytes if you answered by Question no 1 with half. Finally, you can also multiply that number with 200 megabytes. Then you need to multiply that number by five for the expected life of your hardware. After that with this result, add the legacy storage. After all, divided that result number by .75 Now we can use these .75 divisors assume the redundancy required by most of the RAID systems. Here’s an Example One of my familiar person Dr. Lony practices about six quarters of his studies from MRIs and CTs. They generally represent 45 studies per day. The legacy studies are practices is 3.9 TB of his storage. Dr. Lony can calculate the size of the new PACS by following calculation: ((45 studies/day x 310 days per year X 200 Megabytes/study average X 5) +3.9 Terabytes))/ .75 = 18,600,005 TB = 18 TB 1 Terabyte = 1,000,000 Megabytes when making this calculation in formal equation. To clarify, we know that most come with four drives. So, this smaller PACS normally comes in that size is divisible by four. Meanwhile, in the time of

  3. calculation, we should take the round number. When we need the PACS size of more than 18 TB, we should round up to the nearest six. Finally, you can say that you have 6 more drive PACS. How large a PACS you should consider is a great rule of thumb if you use this formula. After all, you can discuss it with your consultant before buying a PACS. Final thought The wrong size of PACS has a negative effect on practice. It’s because incorrect size always shows you the wrong result. As a result, it may a bad effect on business. Your right knowledge can handle any situation. Then you can realize how much PACS size you really need.
