A Grant of Probate (also known as a Grant of Representation or Grant of Letters of Administration) is a document issued by the Probate Registry. The grant authorises the executors of a will (also known as personal representatives) or the administrators of an intestate estate (where someone has died without leaving a will) to administer the estate of the deceased person. After applying one also want to track probate application status. Fortunately, you can track a probate application in the UK. You can do this by searching for the probate case online through the Probate Registry. This will give you access to the status of the probate case, as well as any documents that have been filed in relation to it. You can also contact the Probate Registry directly to enquire about the status of a probate case and check whether there are any probate delays. After you've applied The death certificate will be returned to you. The will and any additions to it (‘codicils’) will be kept by the probate registry and become a public record.
