  2. Introduction The Japanese automaker Nissan has a proud legacy of good SUVs in the global market. In India however, Nissan came up with an SUV only in the year 2013, i.e. almost 8 years after its entry into the Indian market.Terrano marks Nissan’s entry into the highly popular compact SUV segment and it is also the first locally manufactured SUV by the company. The premium vehicle was well accepted by car lovers and just the pre-booking figures crossed 7000 units. The Terrano helped the company to see a 29 per cent increase in its total sales.   3. The 2015 new edition To keep up this momentum of good sales, Nissan India launched the New Nissan Terrano in May this year. This is a special and limited edition offering many additional benefits and is known as the Terrano Groove. However the new edition is available only on the high end XL(O) trim and is targeted mainly at the luxury buyers at a price of Rs 11.45 lakhs. The company aims to sell only 250 units of the New Terrano in the country. All the additional features and interior and exterior modifications offered are worth of nearly Rs 30000.

  4. What makes it special? Looks wise, the new model retains the same overall design and dimensions. The notable changes are the matte black roof wrap with chrome lining, chrome highlighted fog lamps and tail lamps, LED scuff plates and a refreshed tail gate and tail lights. Coming to insides, the new Terrano gets a redesigned cabin with moodlights and branded fabric foot mats with a vibrant design. One can enjoy good music while driving via high quality precision speakers from Rockford Fosgate. The new Nissan Terrano is no doubt more stylish, spacious and offers more premium features compared to its rivals in the same segment.

  5. Same mechanics The new Nissan Terrano is powered by the same frugal 1.5 litre diesel motor that is tuned to produce 110 PS of maximum power. It comes mated with a 6 speed transmission gear box. The best part of the Terrano is its superb ride quality, thanks to the sorted platform and firm suspension set up. The SUV is equally at home in the urban settings as well as open highways.

  6. Future plans Nissan also has plans to bring in the Terrano with an AWD system on the higher trims. This feature is currently available only in Renault Duster. The i-DriveTech shift-on-the-fly 4x4 system, a creation of Nissan, features three driving modes - 2WD, Auto and AWD. Further it will have features like Electronic Torque Control, ASR, ESP and Hill Start Assist and also Heads up Display.
