From bigwigs to the mainstream brand sponsorships, E-sports games in 2018 are drawing audiences that can rival the biggest names in the sporting industry. The live streams of different tournaments now attract more than 100,000 online viewers. Mobile E-Sports games are the platform where all the traditional sports leagues want to be. We see people from all walks of life: they are young, vibrant, diverse and global. Fantasy sports are real and it’s growing and spreading like a wild fire in the forest and there are numbers to back this up. The elephant in the room now is that, how big is this gaming industry or how popular e-sports games are? The answer is pretty big. According to Newzoo, E-sports or fantasy sports had reached the global audience of 1.1 billion people in the year 2016 and about 427 million people will be watching video gaming by 2019.Now that’s a pretty tall number. Bigwigs like BBC, ESPN, Yahoo and SkySports are among the topnotch companies that have started broadcasting best E-Sports games and its tournaments. There are many Universities and colleges who have started their own offline local competitions. E-Sports viewership is on the rise, as an overall sport category, Fantasy sports in 2018-19 has more youtube followers, than news, movies and education put together. Today’s parents also are open to their kids becoming E-gamers and proud with their career choice and the one’s with big careers are making the shift from their IIT Degrees and IAS positions to become the best E-Sports gamers and financially supporting themselves and their families as full time E-Gamers. Now isn’t that a big shift in the attitudes and career choices? The answer is a big fat YES. The prize pool has increased by more than 500 percent since 2012 where E-sports platform is concerned, be it Online Poker gaming software/industry or any other Fantasy sports. So the big question then is, does a person watch this thing? The answer is YES again!!! And are people making a conscious choice in their careers and jumping on to the E-Sports bandwagon, the answer yet again is YES. The rise in Online Poker, Fantasy sports like Cricket Leagues etc was always inevitable: the direction where E-Sports is heading now, it is not only going to be billion dollar industry if it isn’t already but also an industry where millions of people are going to get employed too, and we are going to be the lucky ones to see its success story.
