Okay, so you’ve arrived at the airport, you’ve collectedyour bags, your rental car, and you’re just getting ready to head to yourhotel, when you realize: you have no idea how to get there. You’ll quicklysee why it’s just as needed as a rental car or tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil(you’ll get it in a moment.)Our first stop: Sin City itself. Let’s head to Las Vegas. If you’re heading to the U.S. from out of the country, LasVegas is no doubt on your list of places to check out. You’ll no doubt want tocheck out “O” by Cirque du Soleil, if you’re interested in tasting some localbeer, the Sin City Brewing Co. could be your spot, and of course, there’s theinfamous Strip. Whether this is a trip for gambling, shopping, a conference,or even a family affair—you won’t get far without a phone in hand. Say you wantto head to the strip, but you’re not staying nearby and you don’t have a rentalcar. Easiest (and most economical) thing to do: order a ride! You’ll need aphone with an app that can do just that. (Think Uber or Lyft.)Or perhaps you want to see some shows while you’re in townand you didn’t want to lug your laptop on your vacation. You’ll need a smartphone with Internet to buy tickets.And of course, there’s simply staying together and planningwith your friends and family. Especially if you’re not all staying together inthis crazy town, it can be hard to organize and stay connected with so muchgoing on.Having a cell in Vegas is not just practical—it’spractically necessary. I mean, remember the movie The Hangover?How different would that have ended up if only they’d rented a good smartphone, iPhone & iPadin Las Vegas from Dyal? Our second stop is quite a different sort of vacation—it’skind of like the Las Vegas for kids: Orlando, the home of Disney World. I recently went to Disney World myself and do you know howmany times during one day I needed to use my cell phone? Twenty-one. Twenty-onetimes I needed to text or call my friends to find out where they were, or whenwe should meet up! And Disney isn’t even the half of it: in Orlando there areshows, Epcot Center, Universal Studios, meals to plan and coordinate witheveryone—not to mention if your kiddo should wander off from the group at oneof these adventures. It might even be a good idea to rent phones for all adultsand all kids over a certain age, just to make sure everyone sticks together.The point here is: when you’re in a city like Las Vegas orOrlando where there is simply so much goingon, it’s a good idea to have a way to stay in touch, find your way around thecity, make any emergency phone calls, and plan your trip.
