  2. FUNCTIONS OF CI- Y TYPE STRAINER The simplest function of a CI Y type Straineris that it takes contaminated flow in and gives out the clean fluid. Anything not considered worthy in the fluid is disposed off with the help of Y and CI T type strainers. 

  3. STRAINER Strainers are constructed of perforated metal or mesh to eliminate big unwanted particles from the flowing liquid. The thickness level can be medium, fine or coarse depending on the application needs. 

  4. DRAINING PLUG This part is built of two metal plates fastened together by gaskets and bolts. The plates in the CI Y type strainers compress together against a separating textile gasket to create a seal that makes the way for the fluid to leave. The water passes through the CI Y type strainer and goes out clean from the other end of the strainer. 

  5. BENEFITS OF CI Y TYPE STRAINER CI Y type strainers can be installed vertically or horizontally . CI T type strainers can only get fitted horizontally, making Y type strainer fitting more easy and versatile. Their small size makes them inexpensive. They can endure higher pressure than basket strainers. The reusability ofCI Y type strainers gives an edge over standard filters composed of disposable bodies for cleaning gas or liquids.
