  2. Renee Welsch X-Men Makeup Renee Welsch is a young makeup artist who is looking to make a name for herself in the world of theatrical makeup art. One of her favorite movies, based on the makeup of the characters, is X-Men. The movie had a myriad of mutants who are humans with powers and different looks. A movie like this allows makeup artists, much like Renee Welsch, to explore their creative talents and have beautiful masterpieces on screen. Mystique is a mutant character on screen and often known as one of the best jobs done by the makeup artists. The high level of detail was made of one hundred and ten separate prosthetics that cover sixty percent of the actress’ body.

  3. Renee Welsch The Makeup of The Goonies The Goonies is a beloved movie of the eighties. Renee Welsch loves this movie for more than its young magical and whimsical storyline. One of Welsch’s favorite characters from the movie is the character named Sloth. The makeup done on this character is why Sloth became one of Renee Welsch’s favorites. John Matuszak was transformed into playing Sloth. The character was disfigured and perfectly done by Ellis Burman Jr, Thomas R. Burman, and Bari Dreiband-Burman. This family affair put together one of the greatest characters of the movie outfitted with special effects and wonderful makeup.

There is a variety of theatrical productions that inspire her in the work she does. One of her favorite characters in the history of film is the nasty villain, Penguin, from Batman Returns. The makeup artist who reshaped that face of Danny DeVito used state of the art prosthetics to transform the famous actor into an avian shape. Specialist Stan Winston, one of Renee Welsch’s favorite professionals, worked on DeVito’s face. The makeup was so intense, DeVito was told not discuss anything about the makeup until after its release.
