PADI Advanced Open Water Dive

1. PADI Advanced Open Water Dive This course can be taken after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification. It’s titled PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because it advances your diving knowledge & skills. After taking this class you will have the experience to dive deeper, navigate better and choose your dive experiences based on your new knowledge and certification. The PADI Advanced Open Water Class is built around your desire to become a better trained and more experienced diver. The AOW Class consists of five open water dives that are mostly of your choosing. Two of the dives are required, Deep dive and Navigation dive. In these two dives you will complete the Adventure dives for those specialties to gain experience and learn more about deep diving and better navigation. The other three dives can be chosen from a wide list of Adventure Dives that is found in the Adventures in Diving book. Are you interested in Underwater Digital Photography, Wreck Diving or Search and Recovery? Well then you can choose those three other dives to round out your experience and earn the Advanced Open Water Certification. This certification is also a prerequisite for ​PADI Rescue Diver​. Additionally many dive sites are only available to AOW divers.

2. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diving Course is held over the course of one open water weekend. The Advanced Open Water course (non-eLearning) plus the required textbook.
