  8. Who’s backing SnOasis ‘SnOasis would mark a significant step forward in the development of British athletes. Snowsports GB would like to voice its wholehearted support for the SnOasis development’ Jason Cockburn, Chief Executive, Snowsports GB ‘The £300 million resort will offer a unique opportunity for all year round winter sport activity. I am sure the Winter Sports community will see it as an opportunity to develop next generation Olympians in a range of disciplines and at the same time, raise the profile and interest in Winter Sport.’ Simon Clegg, Chief Executive, British Olympic Association ‘SnOasis is a wonderful opportunity to really push Britain forward as a skiing nation’ Malcolm Erskine, British Ski Academy

  9. Who’s backing SnOasis ‘I view the SnOasis project as a major asset to the training and selection of young winter sports athletes’ Konrad Bartelski, former World Cup Downhill skier and chairman of the British Land Alpine Ski Team ‘If the SnOasis project were to be completed it would enable us to utilise the facility not only for our elite skaters but members of our development squads who at present have to travel overseas for any long term training.’ National Ice Skating Association of UK ‘It is great to think of a local authority that actually has the balls to proceed with a project that will be a major source of tourist income. The proposals are so inspiring as they will provide training facilities for so many sports that have little possibility of ever getting the recognition they deserve.’GB Inline Rollerblading

  10. Who’s backing SnOasis • ‘The Council welcomes the prospect of having a major national and regional leisure facility on the edge of Ipswich and supports the principle of the SnOasis proposal.’ Ipswich Borough Council • ‘The council has said it will do whatever it can to support SnOasis. It’s the biggest thing that’s happened in Mid-Suffolk and would be of national and international importance’Cllr Wendy Marchant, Mid Suffolk District Council • ‘We’ve seen all the plans and proposals and we’ve supported it. We think it will provide a lot of new facilities and attract a lot of business. It’s important to have facilities for any type of business, not just hi-tech. We want real jobs here in Suffolk. The site is situated just off the A14 and so its additional facilities could attract business to the area.’ Ipswich and Suffolk Chamber of Commerce • Local and regional MPs including Bob Blizzard and Chris Mole.

  11. Who’s backing SnOasis ‘The project potentially represents one of the largest single visitor investments ever made in the region. The region has few new attractions with a national catchment area. This project could certainly change this and put the region on the map as a destination.’ East of England Tourist Board ‘We express our full support for snoasis. It should bring significant benefits to the East of England’John Williams, Chief Executive , Suffolk Development Agency ‘I think it is a superb project that will bring a tremendous number of jobs in the region, a great deal of visitors and overall it will give our economy and massive lift’ Bob Sambrook, Chairman, IoD Suffolk
