Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree • Typically in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Medicine, Public Health • About 1/3 of all Industrial Hygienists have earned Master’s Degrees • About 1/3 of all Industrial Hygienists are Certified Industrial Hygienists
Recruitment & Retention Issues • Out of Class work • Industrial Hygienists are responsible for occupational health, but are regularly required to address occupational safety as well as Environmental/ Community Health & Safety. • Inappropriate Management (non-Sci Supervisors) • Little administrative support
