Forget the Gauges • Gone are the traditional gauges that only inform the driver of their speed. • What is now being called by Audi as the “virtual cockpit” is a 12.3-inch LCD screen sitting in front of the driver. • The customizable dash has the ability to toggle between the classic view with the speedometer in the foreground to the Audi’s Multi-Media Interface (MMI) mode where the prominent elements include a full screen navigation map and media lists and smaller virtual gauges. • Other vehicles feature secondary information screens, but Audi has eliminated the center-stack screen traditionally used for MMI infotainment system.
