3 Types of Anesthesia for Wisdom Tooth Removal • Local Anesthesia • Your dentist will inject the anesthesia to your gums to numb them. • You are awake during the tooth extraction, you will not feel pain even though you’ll feel some pressure and movement. • Sedation Anesthesia • Your dentist gives you sedation anesthesia through an intravenous (IV) line in your arm. • You will not feel any pain and will have limited memory of the procedure. Local anesthesia will also be injected to numb your gums.
