  2. 1. What Chinese craft did Muslims introduce to Europeans and what makes this an example of cultural diffusion? • Muslims introduce Europe to paper making. It is an example of cultural diffusion because the practice of making paper reached Europe from Asia.

  3. 2. Which dynasty built and established Baghdad as their capital? • The Abbasid Dynasty.

  4. 3. What is a minbar? • A raised pulpit in a mosque where the imam gives the sermon.

  5. 4. Explain how Muslims used the astrolabe. • It was used for navigation. Sailors used the position of stars to know their location.

  6. 5. Who is IbnSina and why is he important in the field of medicine? • Ibn Sina has been called “the prince of physicians” because he studied the treatment of diseases.

  7. 6. Explain what happened to Muslim literature as a result of paper making. • The craft of paper making led Muslims to create books, which increased Muslim literature.

  8. 7. The waterwheel was a Muslim contribution to technology. What was its purpose? • The purpose was to carry water from canals or reservoirs into aqueducts.
