5. Water SupplyCity of Homestead Elevated Water Tank Water comes from the Biscayne Aquifer, a groundwater source.
The groundwater is treated at Harris Field treatment plant.
The treated water is pumped through the inflow/effluent pipes.
6. Water SupplyCity of Homestead Elevated Water Tank Water enters to the four main supplier wells and is pumped to the tank via four individual pumps.
Each well containing an individual pump of 2.84 m3 per minute capacity.
An average of 11.36 m3 per minute leave the tank.

8. DamagesCity of Homestead Elevated Water Tank There have not been any major damages to the tower since it was built.
During hurricane Andrew only the two entrance doors were damaged.
9. MaintenanceCity of Homestead Elevated Water Tank The structure of the tower is inspected every five years.
Every year they measure the paint thickness, and repaint it if necessary.
The inside of the tank contains a layer of catargic, in order to avoid corrosion.
