Material list Structure 1 x ridge pole 2.800 long ( at Andy’s house) 2 x supporting Pou 1.8.000 long (to find eg old posts) 2 x big flat stone to put under pou Side walls approx 40 x ponga 1.200 long at 150 mm dia 40 x ponga 1.200 long at 75 mm dia (gap fill) 2 x ponga top plate 2.800 long at 150 mm dia Rear walls approx 20 x ponga 1.700 long at 150 mm dia 20 x ponga 1700 long at 75 mm dia (gap fill) Roof approx 60 x ponga 1500 long at 100 mm dia Totara bark, raupo or similar to thatch roof if possible (if not try plastic for temporary weatherproofing 8 x straight manuka 3 m long to hold thatch Polypropylene bailing twine or flax to tie down Manuka pegs to use instead of nails (Many) (need electric drill to drill holes for this) Note: 1. put all ponga upside down so any rain flows out not into middle 2. The whare floor (pumice) should be dug about 500 deep (soil temp) 3. Turf the ground surface so water runs away from the whare.
