UGCNET 2018 – A Complete Guide
Introduction: UGC NET 2018 • NTA will be the exam conducting body from the next session of UGC NET 2018. • NTA decided that the NET exam will be conducted twice a year in the month of July and December. • The award of JRF and Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only depends on the performance of the candidate in both the papers of NET in aggregate.
Eligibility - Criteria Candidates who want to apply for the NET exam, have to fulfill the all requirements of the exam. • Candidates have to secure minimum 55% aggregate marks in post graduation or equivalent degree. • The OBC belonging to non-creamy layer/SC/ST/PwD get the relaxation of 5% in the aggregate marks in post graduation or equivalent degree.
Eligibility - Criteria • Candidates who are appeared for their qualifying year of Masters or equivalent degree and whose result is still awaited can also apply for the UGC NET exam. • The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks. • The maximum age limit for JRF aspirants is 30 years.
Eligibility - Criteria • The OBC belonging to non-creamy layer/SC/ST/PwD/Female aspirants get the 5 years’ age relaxation. • 3 Years Relaxation in Age will be provided to the candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree. • The candidates having research on any subject will also get the relaxation of 5 years only if it is certified by the appropriate university.
Exam - Pattern To get a good score in the exam you need to get complete knowledge about the exam pattern. • As per the latest pattern CBSE UGC NET exam is conducted in two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. • Paper 1 – It is a common General Aptitude Test which consists questions based on Reasoning Ability, Comprehension Reading, Mental Ability, and General Awareness etc.
Exam - Pattern • Paper 2 – It consists 100 MCQs type questions based on subjects each of 2 marks.
