  1. Industrial Furnace Repair Tips and Instructions The machines used in factories operate as complex mechanisms. But the common problem faced by technicians while working with them are often generated by apparent negligence. A mere erroneous calibration is enough to make the furnace perform inefficiently. Here is a list of furnace problems and repairs that one can perform after learning its features from industrial furnace manufacturer’s handbook: 1.Apparent Gas Leakage Problem It is easier to detect gas leakage in furnaces because it not only hinders its work output but also creates a distinct scent in the nearby atmosphere. In case the problem of gas leakage is clearly established, immediate action of switching off the valve should be taken care of. Holding the valve with an adjustable wrench and rotating it to one quarter is enough to switch it off. Until further repair, it is better to avoid lighting matchsticks, candles, and electric switches near the furnace. Gas utility, industrial furnace manufacturers, or fire department must be contacted immediately and the area must be evacuated. For furnaces with a thermocouple, technicians can check for blockage in its orifices for stopping the gas leakage themselves. 2.Poor Heating Effect in Furnace or Lagging Cycles If the furnace is producing lesser amounts of heat than expected, it can be a symptom of many eventual problems. Hence, each of them must be tested individually to avoid such cases in the

  2. future. Firstly, the filters and blowers must be checked for blockages, then the thermostats must be inspected for accurate calibration, and following that it must be ensured that the heating registers are open. The mentioned points identify the most common causes of underperforming furnaces. Yet, if the problem persists, it is better to call a furnace repair technician and dissuade it from leaving the industry premises until all repairs are done. 3.Unusual Noises from the Furnace During Operation Metallic heating ducts are common culprits behind the sound that a furnace produces while working. But it must be remembered that their produced sounds are not as much queer or irritating as the ones that are produced during furnace problems. Popping sounds are an indication of thermal expansions in the duct area. After tracking the passage of the duct, once the affected area is identified, it is better to poke a dent on its surface for getting rid of the problem. On the other hand, squealing noises are clear indications of disruptions in the motor-to-fan connections. To treat them, technicians must adjust the motor mount and check the alignment of the belt. Industrial furnace manufacturers also distribute manuals for every furnace with their deliveries. These can be exceptionally useful in treating such noisy furnaces. 4.Incessant Running of Furnace Blower There are two primal reasons because of which furnace blowers can be seen to run unstoppable. Firstly, it may be because of the faulty thermostat reading of furnace chamber temperature. And secondly, it could be because of the poor working of the limit switch (located below the plenum i.e. the box distributing hot air around ducts). In case of thermostat errors, the fan switch must be turned to auto mode for curing the problem. While if the cause lies in the limit switch functioning, it must be ensured that it is calibrated to auto mode as well. Generally, it is advised to keep the lower point of the limit switch on 90 Degrees F and its highest point to 115 Degrees F. Specifications given in the furnace manual provided by industrial furnace manufacturers can be instrumental in understanding the furnace type. This information can then help technicians with the knowledge to perform the above-mentioned repairs by themselves. Source:Industrial Furnace Repair Tips and Instructions
