  2. Who We Are SMILE Welfare Foundation is a legally registered, non-profit voluntary organization working for the upliftment of underprivileged children. SMILE is managed by a group of young professionals working in various backgrounds. We believe that meaningful & quality education is one of the important ingredients in the development of children. It transforms children into confident and bold individuals ready to take on the challenges ahead in their life.

From Past to Future: Uniting Our History, Vision, and Mission SMILE WELFARE FOUNDATION was born on the shores of the Besant Nagar Beach, in Chennai on April 4, 2004.  We dream to bring SMILE to as many faces as we can in this world. To help economically & socially backward children by providing them love, support and education and to make them feel as you and I felt in our childhood.

  5. SabarmathiGurukulam At Sabarmathi Gurukulam, students are imparted not only with education, but also the values and importance of their Gurus, the teachers and the fellow human beings, or should I say living beings. They are taught to respect and work under the guidance of their lecturers.

  6. SMILE's SADHANA Project SMILE’s SADHANA is a similar devoted practice to help children from the underprivileged section of the society to accomplish greater heights in life intellectually and economically through the ultimate discipline ‘Education’”.

Project PunnagaiPaalam PunnagaiPaalam’ (PP) literally translates to ‘A Bridge of SMILES’. This project was named so with the intention to bridge the gap between the quality of education that the kids get based on their varied economic status. We help children gain values and education that bridges goals and accomplishments in a smile filled journey. 

  8. Project Rural Reach Rural Reach is an initiative in project PunnagaiPaalam to identify students from rural background and support them for their higher school education. This effort is to make sure SMILE supports quality education for those underprivileged students who are not able to pursue their higher education due to financial circumstances and to reduce the number of dropouts in school.

  9. Project Atchaya Food, Shelter and Clothing has and will always remain to be man’s fundamental needs. Project ATCHAYA was conceived keeping in mind this reality of life. SMILE as an organization works with an aim to make quality education accessible for children from poor economic and bad social condition.

  10. Project Shiksha SMILE’s SHIKSHAexactly aims to turn this curiosity into positive knowledge that would benefit them forever.With the aid of illustrations, models and multimedia we teach them basics, personal hygiene and then greater topics like analytical skills, personality development etc.
