  1. Steps For Implementing Reliability Based SAN Maintenance

  2. Identify Assets in a Master Asset List • To help with locating, SAN Maintenance, and analyzing data, first decide on the selection criteria, then choose the data components and arrange the criteria. Consider differentiating features when choosing criteria. The physical boundaries of the program are determined by the definition of an asset. The requirements need to address an organization's actions related to supply chain, quality, and maintenance.

  3. Determine the Asset Criticality Ranking • The elements that must be taken into account and the possible consequences of a failure for the business must be specified in order to establish a ranking of priorities. Examine all aspects of the potential effects of an asset or asset group failure on the business when determining the criticality of an asset. The asset criticality ranking (ACR) computation typically takes into account the following factors: operational, utilization, quality, safety, and environment.

  4. Optimize PM Program • The failure modes can be found using a variety of techniques. To ensure that the most important asset groupings are assessed with the utmost priority or precision, don't forget to take the asset criticality rating into account. Assess the failure modes that matter most to the asset or collection of assets. The risk priority number (RPN) is the formula that is used to categorize failure modes. The severity, likelihood, and detect ability are the basic RPN factors.

  5. Analyze Spare Parts • Apart from the work plan and PM schedule, a spare part analysis (SPA) is also necessary. An SPA follows the same sequential steps as a PMO. The first step in spare part analysis is to identify the failure modes. It is important to make sure that every spare part is associated with a failure mode and is chosen based on potential hazards. Like PMO, each failure mode's associated risk needs to be identified. Because failure mode detection and classification are the foundation of both PMO and SPA, there is a great deal of synergy between their simultaneous implementations.

  6. Determine Failure Causes • Analytics are used to assess an asset's or an asset group's reliability as well as the efficacy of the reliability plan. The criteria need to be specified for consistent analytical computation, and the cross-functional engineering team needs to be aware about the significance of the criteria and how it will affect the company.
