This is for safety reasons too. Whether you are in the driving seat or not, you should know how to change windshield wipers. Changing the wiper and wiper blades is an important and simple procedure. It is a part of regular car maintenance. Wiper blades should be changed at least once a year. When the rubber begins to wear or crack – it says that it is time to get replaced. You may also observe that the blades will start to smear water, leave a film on the windshield or wipe water unevenly. It is a good idea to have both wipers replaced at once. If one of the blades needs replacement, it is assumed that the other will go off soon. Wiper blades are also refilled from time to time. The hands-on knowledge of how to change wiper blades is also essential. It can be done with a little effort. To remove the old windshield wiper blade, we need to pull back the arm and spin around the blade so that the bottom of the blade flips up towards the top. Locate the tiny retaining clips near the end of the refill and pinch them together with tapering nose pliers or twisters and then start sliding out the refill. This fitting process is identical to most vehicles on the road. You can also ask your mechanic to do it in case you find the process difficult for you. Silicon wiper blades can also be used instead of rubber blades and give a better performance. Wiper installationusually does not require a tool and could be done using both of our hands only. All we need is to pull back the arm and spin around so that the blades become visible. The arms are supposed to hold themselves under the spring tension and will allow us to switch out the blades easily.
