  3. Business Visa (B1 visa): The B1 US visa is provided to people coming into US for business related purposes. Other purposes may include scientific, educational or professional events or conferences. This visa is provided with a validity of up to a maximum 10 years with the maximum stay period of six months. The applicant may also opt for a special B1 US visa that allows him or her to enter and leave the US multiple times as they please. The processing time is around 3-4 days after the visa interview has been conducted. In the event of the visa getting expired, the applicant will have to apply for a new visa as there is no provision in the US law for renewal of US visa.

Tourist visa: The B2 US visa is provided to people visiting the US for travel or other such recreational and pleasurepurposes like meeting a relative or friends or to witness a musical or sport event. People entering the US for medical treatment purpose can also apply for the B2 visa. This visa is provided with a validity of up to a maximum 10 years with a maximum stay period of six months. Just like the B1 visa, the B2 US visa can also allow the applicant to enter and leave the US shores multiple times according to their need. The processing time is around 3-4 days after the visa interview has been conducted. In case of the visa getting expired, the applicant will have to apply for a new visa as the US laws do not allow visa renewal.

  5. In case the applicant’s visa is valid at arrival but may expire before he or she departs, they are granted a period of stay by the Customs and Border Protection Officer on arrival. The applicant can stay till the end of this granted time period. So, as we saw in this article, the B1 and B2 US visa are very convenient for people visiting the US.
