  1. Indian Culture vs Western Culture Cultures vary from one region to another and from one country to another. Culture is inherent and integral part of one’s life, be it western or Indian. We should respect the culture of an individual as it reflects the attitude, manner or behavior of that person. Every nation or country has their own culture relating to food, clothes, social life, living style, addressing, languages, festivals, literature, dance and music, traditions, marital life, ​relationships​, beliefs, spirituality, independence and many in the list. On the global platform, ​Indian culture​ is one such topic that is widely discussed and highly spoken when compared to western culture these days. The jerk up of globalization has made a big difference and changes in the lifestyle of people living in western as well as India. Yet there are some practices in both the cultures that are still followed and respected. It is but natural that differences do exist when Indian culture is compared with western culture in various aspects, such as: ● Language: India is the center of many religions with people speaking in 150 different languages. Basically, Indians have around 1650 mother tongues from diversified religions but only the above mentioned are spoken by considerable population. The popular languages spoken in India are Hindi, Punjabi, gujarati, Marati, tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Kannada and so forth. Hindi is the official language of ​India​. Western countries constitute a major part of the globe with different nations having different language as their official language such as English, Spanish and French in the countries like USA, Europe and UK respectively. Generally, Latin languages are given high importance in the west. ● Festivals: Indian culture is one of the most primeval cultures to be presented to the humankind and is the same with the legends connected with it. Mostly, the festivals celebrated or commemorated in India are some way or the other related to Gods/Goddesses or their victories in mythology. In the west, only few ​festivals​ are highly recognized such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween. People in the west follow certain traditions on that particular days like drinking green beer and wearing green clothes on St.Patrick’s day, dressing up like witches and ghosts on Halloween and eating turkey on Thanksgiving occasion.
