Everything You Need To Know About the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya Originally posted at: https://shorturl.at/prUZ3 The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya is a tribute to every Prime Minister of India since Independence and a narrative record of how each one has contributed to the development of the nation over the last 75 years. As a consultant for the project, Tagbin is the brains behind this state- of-the-art museum’s content, design, and technology. Spanning across 1 Lakh square feet of area, the Pradhanmantri Museum is located at Teen Murti Marg, New Delhi, made under the
aegis of the Prime Ministers’ Memorial and Library. It is the perfect amalgamation of history, art, and modern technology, aimed at bringing the lives and contributions of the Prime Ministers to life. On April 14, 2022, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled the Pradhanmantri Museum for the masses to witness a new era of historical spectacle. Design of the Smart Museum With Immersive Experience Technology The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya features 7.5 hours of immersive content and is a detailed walk-through of every Prime Minister’s vision for the country. The Prime Ministers’ galleries are broadly divided into different themes, starting from their early life, political journey, making of a Prime Minister, significant works under their Prime Ministership, challenges they faced, their retirement, and lastly, their later phase. All the galleries in the Pradhanmantri Museum are based on the impact of the former Prime Ministers’ leadership and not on the size of their tenures. Thus, a balance has been struck in the content by presenting the lives of all the Prime Ministers through the impacts that their contributions made on the nation.
The museum boasts 3D immersive experiences by maintaining a fine blend of static and audiovisual content, memorabilia, archival letters & documents, digital panels, art installations, and interactive exhibits. Information for all these was collected through repositories of institutions such as Prasar Bharti, Doordarshan, Film Division, Sansad TV, Ministry of Defence, Media Houses (Indian and foreign), Print Media Foreign News Agencies, Toshakhana of MEA, families of Prime Ministers and many such authentic resources. Pradhan Mantri Museum Technology Used: An Immersive Tech-adept Museum The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya has employed technology-based interfaces to encompass heterogeneity in content and frequent rotation of displays. Holograms, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, projection mapping, multi-touch installations, multi-media installations, interactive kiosks, computerized kinetic sculptures, smartphone applications, interactive screen experiential installations, Robotics, and many more are some of the technologies used in Pradhan Mantri Museum that enable its content to become highly interactive. Check out some of the key features of the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya:
The museum entrance itself is a spectacle, featuring a levitating 3D-printed National Emblem that sets the tone for the grandeur within. To add to this appeal is an artistic mobile installation of 1200 synchronized kinetic LED lights suspended from the ceiling. It immerses the onlooker in a kaleidoscope of the waving Tiranga (Indian National Flag). Tagbin has enriched the museum experience with its meticulously developed audio guide system. Visitors can select handheld audio devices in their preferred language, immersing themselves in a 360-degree journey enhanced by clear voice- overs. The audio auto-syncs to the exhibits and helps people navigate the large expanse of the museum with indoor navigation. One of the highlights is the holographic exhibit, “From the Ramparts of the Red Fort,” where visitors can witness and listen to historic speeches delivered by all the Prime Ministers of India from the Red Fort. A Museum Management Software was also developed by Tagbin to control and manage all aspects of the museum, including hardware and software. The system is built from scratch, with a focus on scalability, security, and reliability.
The software includes a monitoring panel that provides real-time updates of all systems, including third-party software, allowing for remote management and maintenance. This is achieved using modern technologies such as cloud computing, IoT (Internet of Things) devices, and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya Special Features: A Visitor- Centric Museum The Pradhanmantri Museum, designed with the backing of the best experiential design company, redefines the way visitors interact with a museum exhibit. Unlike traditional museums, it has deployed multiple techniques that make the visitors center of the museum where exhibits revolve around them, and they get a chance to participate, play and learn. How do visitors be a part of the museum? New-aged technologies utilized by the tech-driven company Tagbin, such as AR, VR, and Robotics, have been used in the curation of this Engagement Zone called Anubhuti. AR-integrated exhibits like “Stroll with PM” and “Selfie with PM” enable visitors to record videos of themselves walking alongside their favorite Prime Ministers or capture memorable pictures with them.
The VR-integrated “Helicopter Ride” allows viewers to explore India’s visionary projects in a simulated aerial experience. A special highlight is the AI-powered Handwriting Robot, which creates personalized letters signed by the Prime Minister of visitors’ choice. In the “India 2047” exhibit, visitors are invited to share their visions and suggestions for India’s future 25 years from now. Another engaging exhibit, “Sketch and Bring a Mission to Life,” empowers children to unleash their creativity by drawing and completing missions such as Mangalyaan and Chandrayaan, combining learning with artistic expression. In the “Unity Chain” exhibit, visitors stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow Indians, digitally forming the longest human chain as a symbol of unity and togetherness.
Visitors can also step into the captivating “Time Machine” exhibit at the Pradhanmantri Museum and embark on an interactive journey through independent India’s nuclear history from 1947 till date. They can also relieve significant milestones like the Green Revolution led by Shastriji, the 1971 War, and the Economic Revolution initiated by Narasimha Rao brought to life through immersive displays and multimedia presentations.
