History CSI Who are you?
What are we going to be learning? • What is archaeological evidence? • How do we use it? • And what can we find out from it? • How do we solve a mystery using evidence?
Close your eyes • Today you are going to be taken on an archaeological dig. • Kneel down and spread the tools out in front of you that you will need to begin your investigation. • Reach out in front of you, the ground is cold and you can smell the damp peat from the pit that you are digging in. • You have removed a chunk of peat and notice something in the ground in front of you. • You clear away a little more gently with your fingers and make a startling discovery. • Open your eyes to see what you have found.
Your investigation… You are going to be investigating using a replica ‘crime scene’. All of the artefacts are replicas of what was found at the ‘crime scene’. The information that is around the room will help you to maybe solve the mystery and maybe solve the murder. It’s time to collect your clipboards and begin. Good luck!
