His Life • Born on July 31, 1901 • Attended classes at Ecole des Beaux-Arts for two years then travels to Paris then proceeds to continue his education through isolation. • Becomes devoted to painting • In 1924 he ceases to paint for 8 years because of doubts in the value of culture. • He struggles with his artwork for many years due to constant struggles to keep the family vineyard going. • In 1942 he devotes his life to art and refuses to quit for any reason.
