Today, we know the true worth of the book. Everyone now agrees the Huckleberry Finn is a masterpiece; it is the one book in our literature that highbrows and lowbrows can agree on.
8. Theme One of the major themes of Huckleberry Finn is slavery. Mark Twain was obviously against slavery because it is hypocritical.
Throughout the book, we see Hucks interacting with Jim as a human, while everyone else treats him just as a piece of property. Twain was especially against the Christians who promoted slavery.
