  1. Whitemoss Athletics Review March 2008. Performance Update The Indoor season is almost over and our resident Stato, Steven Whyteside, has been hard at work updating his files. There have been 16 Club records broken since the first league meeting in December. Stand out top performer of the Indoor season has been Andrew Ravenscroft in the Under 13 Boys. Not only did Andrew win Silver in the Scottish Combined Events Championships but he has also broken 5 Club records. So well done to Andrew and the following record breakers. 2. Power of 10 (Scottish & UK Rankings) Just in-case anyone doesn’t know, Scottish & UK athletics record all athlete performances at Scottish athletics officiated events for Under 13s and above. These include indoor and outdoor league competitions as well as regional & national championships. Results above a certain standard are recorded on the Power of 10 website. www.powerof10.info Within this website you will be able to see the top performances in every event at every age group. It can be broken down from UK level to Scottish level. If you are listed you will also find a full list of performance from 2006 onwards. After original teething problems the Power of 10 website is changing all the time with new results being added constantly and reasonably quickly. It now includes the UK all time best list in each event for Under 15 and over. The following Whitemoss Athletes are currently in the Scottish top 10. 3. Whitemoss on the World stage !!!! Whitemoss honorary member Allan Scott was selected to represent Great Britain & Northern Ireland at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia at the weekend. Allan stormed through the heats & Semi final to qualify for the 60m Hurdles final as the joint fastest qualifier with the Chinese World record holder over 110m hurdles. After a false start Allan got off to a good start Allan clipped the 4th hurdles and never recovered eventually finishing 6th. Even though going into the final Allan might have expected better this was a fantastic achievement. Hopefully he can transfer this to the longer 110m hurdles outdoors and chase that Olympic dream Erin Jumps to Glory Also getting a call up from the GB selectors was ex Whitemoss Athlete Erin Leggate. Erin was selected for the Jump International at Lee Valley in London. Erin jumped a new Personal best of 1m 80 to finish 2nd. Although Erin represents City of Glasgow Victoria Park these days she is always welcome at Whitemoss and we look proudly on at her progress.
