The modern drivers are likely to prefer automatic transmission over manual. The former ones are more popular as they offer more of convenience and ease. The automatic cars are comparatively easy to drive on hilly terrains. The drivers who like better control over their engine and transmission claim that real driving comes only with manuals.

Guide to Troubleshoot Hydraulic Transmission Defects Vehicle designing is a continuous and ever growing business that brings in new technology every now and then. Hydraulic Drive System has changed the driving experience for people in general. The power transferring mechanism is so efficient because of which new cars are installed with hydraulic system. The principle for basic hydrostatic transmission is based on Pascal’s Law, i.e., a small force on large area piston can produce large force on smaller area piston. This fundament is used in cars to convert the energy in form of flow and pressure into torque and eventually to speed.
This system consists of hydraulic pump, motor, actuator and other basic fittings. The initial cost of the hydraulic system is costlier than gear transmission but the power generated over a variable range of speed in linear. However, these systems demand regularautomatic transmission services due to load of pressure on piston and control system.
Check out the common problems: 1. Contamination of Hydraulic fuel Hydraulic fuel has to go through a lot of heat, friction and contact with dirt. Overtime use of same batch of oil can reduce its efficiency. This cause may lead to scoring of cylinder or piston rod. 2. Corrosion of material Corrosion is probably the most common problem in any machine, hence, fabricators are asked to use only the best material for their machines to increase the lifetime. Hydraulic cylinders and rods made from cheap stainless steel are prone to pitting, leakages, broken bearings and bents.
3. Shock Loading of engine This form of load is caused by pressure and kinetic energy of fluid and moving parts of vehicle. It is reduced to certain level by taking preventive measures such as improving bearings, adding extra shock absorbing systems to stay away from broken eye bearing and split welds of cylinder. 4. Hydraulic pump failure The pump failure can occur as the time passes by or as per the usage. This requires to check transmission system for poor quality oil, physical damage to the construction, leakages etc. It could led to loss of power generation.
