  1. How To Properly Care For Your Triathlon Clothing

  2. Introduction If you're a triathlete, you know the importance of clothing for your sport. Triathlon clothing is designed to be durable, breathable, and moisture-wicking to keep you comfortable during all three stages of the race. However, like any athletic wear, your tri clothing requires proper care and maintenance to keep it performing at its best. This blog will review tips on properly caring for your tri clothes.

  3. Wash Your Triathlon Clothing After Every Use • Washing your clothes after every use is important, especially if you've been sweating. Sweat can cause bacteria to grow on the fabric, leading to odors and infections. To prevent this, wash your tri clothes in cold water with a mild detergent as soon as possible after your workout. Avoid Using Fabric Softeners and Dryer Sheets • Fabric softeners and dryer sheets may seem like a good idea, but they can harm your clothing. These products can coat the fabric with a layer of chemicals that can interfere with the moisture-wicking properties of the fabric, making it less effective at keeping you dry during your workouts. Instead, opt for a mild detergent and air-dry your clothing.

  4. Separate Your Clothing When washing your clothes, it's important to separate it from your other laundry. It is because the fabric of your triathlon shorts and triathlon tops is specially designed to be moisture-wicking and breathable, while other fabrics may not. By washing your triathlon clothes separately, you can prevent other fabrics from damaging the performance of your triathlon clothes. Avoid Bleach and Harsh Detergents Bleach and harsh detergents can damage the fabric of your clothing, causing it to lose its properties. Instead, opt for a soft detergent specifically designed for athletic wear.
