How to Design a Customised FIBC Bag? FIBC Bags have multiple applications in various industries worldwide, such as manufacturing, construction, mining, agriculture, fishing, and more. Every product & material stored inside FIBC Bag vary in shape, size, and form. Hence, FIBC Bags Manufacturers offer customisationoptions where clients can customise the design of their FIBC Bags according to their requirements & needs. It is crucial for customers to have a comprehension of each component of the FIBC Bag before the design process. In this blog, we will walk you through elements you must consider for customising the design of your FIBC Bag.
Factors to Consider for Designing a Customised FIBC Bag Top Design It is one of the most critical factors as it involves loading products & materials inside your FIBC Bag. Different opening options are available, including a spout, full open top, top flap, and duffel top, like a skirt to open & close the bag entirely. The standard spout top size is 18″ in Length & 14″ in Diameter, which is customisable. Note: Duffel top, discharge & top spouts are not load-bearing and are made with 3.0 oz coated fabric. Refer to our other blog, “What is the difference between an Open Top, Spout Top, & Duffle Top in FIBC Bags?“
Bottom Style & Closures Just like Top, Bottom styles are available in different options, including discharge spout & flat (no discharge). The standard discharge spout is 18″ in Length & 14″ in Diameter, which is customisable. We recommend a discharge spout for products & materials that bridge a bit larger diameter. You can opt for a star petal or discharge spout with an iris in the closure. Each closure comes with various types of ties. You can go for the protective flap to the outer of the discharge spout for extra protection. Refer to our other blog, “Types of FIBC Bags Bottom Closures“, for your reference.
Lift Loops Type & Color You need to determine the types of loops, whether you cross-corner or side-seam, sleeve/lift tunnel loops, stevedore straps or ancillary loops. The Length & thickness are customisable. The standard lift loop size is 10″ in Length & 2″ in Width. And 3″ in Width & 10″ in Length. According to your company’s logo & product representation colour, you can customise Lift Loop Color. Note: We recommend opting for a perimeter safety band or belt sewn around the FIBC Bag top for additional strength. Refer to our other blog, “What are the common types of FIBC Bags Lift Loops?” for your reference.
Fabric Type & Weight It is vital to decide on the FIBC Bag fabric type whether you want Type A, B, C, or D Fabric. Types vary based on degrees of static protection. You can select one depending on your applications. Also, you need to ascertain the FIBC Bag Fabric weight according to your requirements & needs. The more the fabric weight, the higher load Bag can support. The weight ranges from 130 to 240 gsm, depending on your demand. Refer to our other blog, “Why is FIBC fabric weight important?” for your reference.
Fabric Color After deciding on Fabric Type & Weight, you must decide on Fabric Color. Standard FIBC Bags are made from white & black fabric. The black fabric represents dark colour materials, such as carbon black & highly inflammable goods. You can select Fabric Color according to your company’s colour theme or product category for easy differentiation. SWL & Safety Factor Safe Working Load (SWL) is the most pivotal element of your FIBC Bag as it determines the load in lbs or kgs you want your bag to carry. And accordingly, you must place the order for your FIBC Bags. The SWL varies from 250 kg to 2,000 kg. Also, you must ascertain the safety factor, whether you want a single-trip (5:1) or multi-trip (6:1 or 8:1) FIBC Bag.
Liner & Coating After selecting Top & Bottom styles, you need to decide on the liner & coating of your FIBC Bag. You can opt for laminating (coating) your FIBC Bag with a thin layer of polypropylene (PP) for extra protection against moisture & other natural contaminants. And also mitigate the sifting of fine materials through FIBC Bag’s weave. Note: Coating doesn’t make Bag waterproof. Liners usually come equipped with a FIBC Bag, depending on your requirements. You can opt for an internal liner from PE, PP or Foil. Liners are renowned for additional protection against sifting. They are loosely inserted or attached inside a FIBC Bag. Filler Cord Standard FIBC Bag seams can support various product particle sizes. However, for fine & delicate materials, we recommend adding a filler cord to the Bag seams for extra resistance against sifting. It is also called dust-proof or double dust-proof seams.
Printing & Document Pouch FIBC Bag Printing is available on up to 4 sides. At Umasree Texplast, we offer printing in 4 colours. Note: Printing on FIBC Bag can be restrained, depending on the nature of the printing surfaces. You can customise document pouches based on size, type, and orientation. The Standard Document Pouch on an FIBC Bag is 10*12 in size of Ziplock type.
