What are the common types of FIBC Bags Lift Loops? FIBC Bags are the first & foremost preferred bags for handling, storing, & transporting dry flowable materials, fine powder, food items, construction materials, combustible materials, and more. When it comes to purchasing FIBC bags, businesses & companies often face confusion with the selection of handling loops for FIBC Bags. There are multiple types of loops & straps available to select from, depending on your requirement & the kind of material you have to load into the bag. In this blog, we will walk you through the most common types of FIBC Bag Lift Loops & Straps that will make it easier for you to select the loop as per your requirement.
Common Types of FIBC Bags Loops & Straps Cross Corner Lift Loops Cross Corner Lift Loops are primarily used in manufacturing of Tubular or Circular FIBC Bags. Cross-Corner Lift Loops FIBC Bags have loops in each corner of the Bag. The lifting loops are sewn onto the body of FIBC and into eight points in opposite corners of the bag, forming an arch over each corner. Standard dimensions of most used Cross-Corner Lift Loops are 3 inches in width & 10 inches in free height. The vital benefit of using Cross-Corner Lift Loops Bags is that they can stand upright when the bag is fully loaded. It makes it easier for forklift operators to grab & lift the bags smoothly. Though Cross-Corner Loop Bags are a bit more expensive than standard loop over loop bags, they provide robust strength & safety while handling & carrying the bags with a forklift and reduce Bag handling time.
Corner Seam Lift Loops Corner Seam Lift Loops, also known as Side-Seam Loops & Loop over Loop Bags. They are primarily used in the manufacturing of U-Panel & 4-Panel FIBC Bags. Corner Seam Lift Loops FIBC Bags are sewn along the bag’s side seams. The loop starts & ends at the same point forming a teardrop shape. Dimensions of most used Corner Seam Lift Loops are 2 inches in width & 10 inches in height. These loop bags are cost-effective and a little challenging to lift with forklifts compared to Cross-Corner Loop Bags. U-Panel with Corner Seam Lift Loops provides excellent durability & strength. However, ensure to use all four loops with forklifts while handling & carrying the bags.
Stevedore Straps Stevedore Straps are an additional supporting component to cross seam loops & cross corner loops FIBC bags for excellent safe handling of FIBC Bulk Bags. Usually, the bags must be lifted with all four loops for secure handling; however, Stevedore Straps allow lifting bags from only two stevedore straps. A Stevedore Strap is a belt that connects adjacent lift loops. The primary aim of Stevedore Straps is to provide remarkable safe handling. Stevedore Straps are the best lifting option in export shopping & areas where it is difficult to access forklifts. The straps allow the operator to raise & lower the bag by a crane or hook system with ease. Though Stevedore Straps increase the cost of the bag, they provide excellent handling as an additional supporting component, giving you multiple ways to lift the bag.
There are three types of Stevedore Straps: 1. One Stevedore Loop One loop is pulled through all four standard corner loops by connecting all of them. 2. Double Stevedore Loops Two loops are pulled to connect each parallel loop at the corners. 3. Sleeve Loops/Lift Tunnel Loops Sleeve/Lift Tunnel Loops are made from the fabric of the bulk bag body. Sleeve/Tunnel Loops are an excellent bag option for safe handling using forklifts.
There are three types of Stevedore Straps: If you exclusively use forklifts for handling & carrying bags, then sleeve/tunnel lift loops should be your first preference. These loops can be designed at the bottom or top of the bag, depending on your bag’s application of use. If you are lifting bags from a height, then it is recommended to have sleeve/lift loops on the bottom of the bag.
Ancillary Loops Ancillary Loops are primarily used in manufacturing Tubular or Circular FIBC Bags. Ancillary Loops are sewn around the body and the bottom forming two or four lifting loops at the top of the bags. At Umasree Texplast, you get them customized as per your application of use. Ancillary loops bags are beneficial for handling & transportation of heavy-weight materials like cement, sand, ore, metal, & specific minerals. They add outstanding durability & strength to the FIBC Bags.
