  1. NURSING CAREER Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) EDUCATION Complete a state-approved program, which typically takes about 15 months to complete. After completing program, students take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX- PN) to get license and work as an LPN may choose to seek additional certifications.
