  1. What is Epilepsy: causes, symptoms & treatment.

  2. Epilepsy is a disease in the central nervous system of the human body. In this disease, there are abnormal brain activities, causing unusual sensations, behaviors, seizures, and loss of awareness. • In epilepsy, the seizures are provoked which are the sudden electrical activity inside the brain. • The seizures are of two types: Generalized in which the whole brain is affected, and focal in which affects are only on the one side of the brain.  • It is difficult to recognize a mild seizure as it lasts only for a few seconds for which you lack awareness. • During a strong seizure, you may feel unconscious, confused and uncontrollable twitches in muscles.

Causes of Epilepsy: • There is no specific cause of epilepsy for nearly half of the people from this condition. • For the other half, the possible causes are: • Genetic Factors: Many types of epilepsy due to which the seizures occurred are run in families.  • Trauma: Injuries in the head or brain are the common reason for epilepsy. The brain inside problems: Tumors or strokes inside the brain. In fact, stroke is a major cause of epilepsy for the people who are old than 40.  • Infectious diseases: Diseases such as AIDS, encephalitis, meningitis can cause epilepsy. • Development problems: Autism and Neurofibromatosis in development disorder can cause epilepsy. 

  4. Symptoms of Epilepsy: For the focal seizures, the symptoms are: • Changes in the taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight • Feeling dizzy • Twitching and tingling of limbs In the complex partial seizures, the symptoms are: • Blankly staring • Unresponsiveness • Repeating movements

  5. The symptoms in the Generalized seizures are: • Blank staring • Blinking and staring • Stiffness in muscles • Loss of muscle control • Shaking • Unconsciousness • Tongue biting • Bower control loss
