Changes in Australia Point system With effect from November 16, 2019 the Immigration department of Australia has announced key changes to the Australia Immigration point system. The new changes that have been introduced to the point system will as a result make it easier for prospective candidates to get their invitation to apply from the Australian Department of Home Affairs for permanent residence in Australia.
10 extra points to applicants with no Spouse or common law partner From the date of November 16, 2019, the prospective candidates who are not married or do not have a spouse or a de- facto partner will now be eligible to receive 10 points on the Australia point system. This is one of the major changes introduced in the Australia point system
10 points if your spouse or de-facto partner is Skilled The prospective candidates who have a better half, that is a spouse or a common law partner who holds a skill set, work experience as well as an appropriate educational qualification, then the Australian department of Immigration grants you 10 points on the Australia Point system.
An additional 5 points for proficiency in English language of the partner If your spouse, de factor common law partner holds a competency or proficiency in English language you get an additional 5 points on the Australia point system as per the new changes that will take effect from November 16, 2019.
10 Points for STEM Education If any of the applicants or prospective candidate who wants to go to Australia holds a STEM qualification in any of the fields of (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics), you get an extra 10 points on the point system for Australia immigration.
15 straight points if you secure a nomination from Regional Australia As a prospective applicant for Australia PR visa there are many ways to immigrate to Australia via the routes Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) or Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190), but it if you secure a nomination from an Australian state or territory government or you are sponsored by a relative or a family member residing in regional Australia, you are awarded a straightaway 15 points on point system.
New Skilled Regional Visa to substitute Subclass 489 visa One of the recent changes that have been announced is that the skilled regional visa also known as subclass 489 has been replaced by a new category called the Subclass 491 visa with effect right from November 16, 2019.
